OFTEC (the Oil Firing Technical Association) has named inspection manager Tim Lock as its new technical director.

ssociation) has named inspection manager Tim Lock as its new technical director.
He joined OFTEC in 2011 as a field based inspector before becoming inspection service manager in 2014; a role which involved overseeing the work of 13 sub-contracted inspectors and contributing to OFTEC’s Competent Persons and Microgeneration Certification schemes.
Prior to his positions with OFTEC, Tim worked for 18 years as an installer of oil, gas and solid fuel heating and hot water systems for a Lincolnshire-based family owned business. He then moved on to become a technical surveyor/ supervisor for both traditional and renewable domestic heating systems at a national installation company.
His new position at OFTEC comes after the post of technical director was vacated by Paul Rose, who has now taken the helm of the organisation as ceo.
