Zehnder launches new UK ventilation system finder as demand for healthier, energy-efficient homes grows

Indoor climate specialist Zehnder Group UK has launched a new free ventilation system selector tool to help people identify the most suitable ventilation solution for their property. The new interactive tool is the ideal first step for homeowners, installers and developers navigating the UK’s evolving ventilation requirements.

Selecting an effective ventilation solution can be challenging, particularly as UK homes become increasingly airtight to meet energy-efficiency targets. Zehnder’s new digital system finder streamlines the decision-making process by guiding users towards finding the right solution for their property’s airflow needs, heat recovery potential and overall comfort goals.

The launch comes as the UK moves towards stricter building standards, raising awareness of the importance of better indoor air quality, and pressure on households to reduce heating costs. With updates to Part F and Part L of the Building Regulations, and further changes anticipated under the Future Homes Standard, choosing the right ventilation system is becoming increasingly important for both homeowners and building professionals.

At the same time, UK awareness of mould, damp, and poor indoor air quality (IAQ) is at an all-time high. According to recent industry insights, installers are seeing higher demand for mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) in both new builds and major renovations, driven by the need for better moisture control, filtration, and energy efficiency.

The ventilation system finder takes all of these elements into consideration and provides tailored recommendations within minutes, based on energy efficiency requirements, comfort expectations and property design. Users also receive an initial indication of cost, helping to simplify early planning and reduce uncertainty in a fast-evolving ventilation market.

The guidance streamlines the selection process by offering an accessible online portal for anyone exploring ventilation upgrades or system options that match their property needs.

“There’s still a lot of confusion out there about which ventilation system is most suitable for each individual property,” said Rupert Kazlauciunas, Technical Product Manager for Ventilation at Zehnder Group UK. “We’re finding that more and more homeowners are recognising the need to install effective ventilation in their homes but often don’t know where to start.

“The Zehnder ventilation system selector will help remove some of the guesswork and arm people with a level of knowledge from the outset. For homeowners, it provides them with understanding and product options that they can discuss with their architect or contractor. And for specifiers and installers, it helps identify the best option based on the spec of the property. We hope that it will encourage better communication and recommendations.”

The new Zehnder ventilation system selector tool offers a quick, accessible overview of suitable solutions. Depending on user preferences, the tool may propose more feature-rich systems for higher comfort levels or more streamlined configurations for cost-conscious projects.

While detailed planning still requires consultation with an HVAC designer or certified installer, Zehnder’s tool positions itself as the ideal first step for homeowners, installers, and developers navigating the UK’s evolving ventilation requirements.
