ECEX appoints new SHEQ manager

ECEX, a leading metalwork, fabrication and mechanical services contractor, has appointed Gerry Merchant as its new Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) manager.

ECEX, a leading metalwork, fabrication and mechanical services contractor, has appointed Gerry Merchant as its new Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) manager.

With a background delivering SHEQ in related sectors, he will assist in ECEX's ambitions to gain ISO 14001 - Environmental Management and the new ISO 45001 - Occupational Health & Safety accreditations.

Replacing long-time ECEX SHEQ manager, Ian Moir, who retires imminently, Gerry Marchant joins the company with 18 years' experience in the construction and medical waste industries. Prior to his work in H&S, quality and environment, he was a paramedic and station supervisor for the ambulance service. He still provides weekend ambulance duties at Premiership rugby matches, combining his skills and interests.
