Walter Meier acquires full ownership of MWH Barcol-Air

Having acquired a minority stake in MWH Barcol-Air last year, global air conditioning and production engineering business Walter Meier has now taken full ownership of the chilled ceilings manufacturer.
MWH Barcol-Air has been involved in the chilled ceiling business for more than 30 years. With this transaction, as with its previous acquisitions, Walter Meier said it would focus on energy efficiency, environmental sustainability and comfort.

A statement from Walter Meier said: 'Compared to other technologies, chilled ceiling systems are operated with high media temperatures, thus providing an extremely energy efficient method of space cooling.

'With their use of thermal radiation, these systems also ensure an exceptionally high level of comfort in the workplace, as they produce no noticeable draft whatsoever. This in turn helps increase concentration and performance levels, giving a significant boost to productivity at work during the summer months.'

MWH Barcol-Air was established in 1979, and today has around 80 employees and sales in excess of CHF 40 million. As well as developing and manufacturing cooling systems, MWH Barcol-Air offers a consultation service for system-specific designs, project management and assembly.

The company manages indoor climate projects through its own subsidiaries in Switzerland, Germany, France and Italy. MWH Barcol-Air will be incorporated
into the Walter Meier Group as an independent subsidiary, and the existing management team will continue to be responsible for running the business.
