Vaillant's record year boosts hopes for 2009
The Vaillant group's Belper factory made and sold 400,000 boilers this year - 25,000 more than last year and it plans to set another record in 2009.
For the last three years, every year has been for Vaillant a record year for boiler sales.
Having successfully beaten its boiler production record once again, about 400 staff involved in the business came together for a celebratory party at Vaillant's Belper factory on December 18.
The UK commercial and domestic boiler manufacturer sold all the units made this year in spite of difficult market conditions in the manufacturing sector and the impact on firms supplying the construction sector.
Years of investment and research at Belper and the quality of its products are described by the group as vital factors contributing to Vaillant's success. In 2008 the company achieved sales of £344m.
Vaillant says it expecting to grow even further in 2009.
Vaillant's UK managing director Jim Moore said: 'We are looking to exceed this performance in 2009, but we recognise that market conditions in 2008 are tough and will be challenging in 2009'.
