Trane's AquaStream high efficiency air-cooled scroll chillers have been added to the Energy Technology List of the Government's Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme on 1 November.
As a result, building owners can now write off the capital tax when purchasing a new AquaStream high-efficiency chiller, the company says.
The Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme offers businesses tax relief for investments in energy-saving technologies. All 54 units within the Trane AquaStream high-efficiency range meet the scheme's criteria and are now officially listed as ECA-compliant.
Building owners who purchase an AquaStream high-efficiency chiller can claim a first year 100 per cent capital allowance on their investment against the taxable profits of the period of investment, the company says. The savings compared to equipment that is not ECA listed can be significant.
Trane introduced the AquaStream to eliminate the historical chiller trade-off between high efficiency and quiet operation.
