Training centre for renewable energy opens

East Cheshire Training and Assessment (ECTA), has opened a centre to deliver Logic Certification’s new renewables courses – ground and air source heat pump systems.
The centre is based in Stockport will also offer existing solar, gas and electrical courses.

ECTA offers a range of Logic Certification renewable programmes, including Solar thermal hot water and the soon-to-be-launched ground and air source heat pump courses, as well as domestic and commercial ACS and a range of oil and electrical training, including 17th edition.

'The importance of renewable energy is well known, but there are still not enough properly trained engineers available to install it,' said managing director, David Berry. 'We should be aiming for engineers trained in all aspects of heating in order that they can offer their customers an informed view of the best, and most energy efficient, way of heating their homes.

'Renewable energy use will never reach its potential in this country without the expert knowledge of the engineers that are selling and installing it.'

ECTA has invested heavily in its renewable energy training facility in order to provide installers with a high quality training programme.

'There is no doubt that, with the rising cost of gas, homeowners will be looking for ways to reduce their bills and will be considering other options when it comes to replacing their current heating system. Our courses offer our clients the opportunity to capitalize on this changing market,' said Kerry-Anne Berry, ECTA's business manager.
