TJ Duncan-Moir of Business Glu
Mrs Duncan-Moir MBE left a family business in the East Midlands two years ago to set up as an improvement and growth specialist.
She established her business, Business Glu, at the beginning of lockdown and has been helping to rebuild companies in the area which were in danger of being forced to close due to the coronavirus pandemic.
One of the clients she helped was a Leicestershire firm guiding them to diversify from 3D printing parts for the Aerospace industry to making PPE equipment for the NHS, care homes and food producers. She assisted businesses in gaining accreditation (EN and CE) for their products, DVSA approval for a vehicle screening design and also educating businesses to carry out claims for R&D tax credits which assisted their cash flow.
Mrs Duncan-Moir MBE said: “I was overwhelmed at learning I had been put forward for an MBE. At first I thought it was a hoax as I was advised by email. My PR wingman, Paul Kirby, calmed me down and advised me to call the Cabinet Office where they confirmed its authenticity. I have no idea who nominated me (not Paul Kirby as naturally my first thought), so I would like to thank whoever it may be that felt my contributions and services were worthy of this recognition.“
