Swegon acquires Ruskin Air Management

Swegon, the producer and supplier of indoor climate systems and products, has acquired Ruskin Air Management Ltd (RAML) from Johnson Controls International plc.

RAML is a leading manufacturer of air distribution, fire and smoke control and ventilation products in the UK and Ireland, with more than 50 years of experience in the market.

RAML has 220 employees in the UK with operations in Whitstable, Kent, and Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

Swegon ceo Hannu Saastamoinen said: “This acquisition gives us a very strong local presence and identity in UK through the well-known RAML brands. In addition, with RAML, we add a new competence area in Swegon in form of their extensive fire and smoke product knowledge.”

He added: “RAML products are complementary for us and we see good potential for cross sales in the future. As a long-term industrial investor, our aim is to reinforce and further develop the local manufacturing base in both Whitstable and Bridgnorth, which are excellent in producing customised products for the local market with short delivery times.'

Managing director of Ruskin Air Management, Kevin Munson, said: “This is a perfect match for Ruskin Air Management Ltd and we look forward to continue our growth momentum as part of the Swegon Group.”

XMS Capital Partners served as Johnson Controls’ exclusive advisor for the transaction.

Ruskin Air Management was previously acquired by Johnson Controls in 2014.
