Staffs council appoints boiler maintenance contractor

Staffordshire County Council has appointed Stoke-based Ford Mainwaring as its boiler maintenance contractor in a four year contract valued at more than £700,000. Under the terms of the contract, Ford Mainwaring will be responsible for the service and maintenance of heating/hot water boilers and water heaters in all buildings on the county's register.
County Councillor Ian Parry, Cabinet Member for Finance and Transformation said: 'When we award a contract, cost is a critical factor, however, equally as important is the capability of a company to respond to emergency situations. During our evaluation process, Ford Mainwaring were able to demonstrate that they had the capacity and support mechanisms in place to provide this service and at a reasonable cost.

'Having worked with them previously, we know they can deliver a high quality service and the rigorous selection process our suppliers go through ensures we get the best service and at the best value for money for our residents.'
