Spirotech director in sky dive for charity

Spirotech’s UK business director Rob Jacques will be reaching new heights when he takes part in a sky dive from 10,000ft in aid of kidney research.

Rob will take to the skies from Cockerham Airfield, near Lancaster, on Saturday 10 July to raise money for the charity Kidneys for Life.

With him on the tandem jump will be his stepson, Stewart, who has had a kidney transplant, and Rob’s youngest daughter, Dionne.

Rob said: “Back in 2017 Stewart was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, resulting in him needing a transplant.

“With the help and support of the amazing staff at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Stewart successfully received his transplant at the end of 2018.

“After a long period of treatment involving dialysis and tests, now more than two years on, his health has greatly improved and he can continue with a normal life.”

For Rob it has been a double challenge, as he has had to lose 25lbs to make the jump weight.

The sky dive, an organised Kidneys for Life event, had been due to take place in 2020 but was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Rob added: “We would like to raise as much money as we can to help support the continued research carried out by Kidneys for Live that ensures people like Stewart can receive the treatment needed to live a healthy life.
