Sontay publishes leaks guide

Sontay, an expert in field control devices, has created a guide for building owners, specifiers and system integrators concerned about water leaks in commercial buildings.

Water leaks can cause substantial damage to a commercial property, especially if they go unnoticed. Sontay has a range of sensors that can monitor for the presence of a leak and protect the building and equipment from water damage. Its new A5 guide gives an overview of the relevant Sontay products for the application; with pictorial diagrams and technical information, the document provides all the information users might require.

The Sontay range has been specifically designed for both localised and zonal leak detection, as well as for easy integration within a building management system (BMS). The sensors can be installed in pipes, air handling units (AHUs), underfloor heating and for monitoring fluid leaks in a data centre. Sontay also has several types of sensitive elements available for these applications. They are compatible with the alarm unit, which provides a relay output for integration with the BMS using LED indication and audible alarm.

Sandy Damm, managing director at Sontay, said: “Water leaks can be damaging for a business both in terms of time lost and financial cost. It is vital that conditions are monitored closely, but it can be hard to know exactly what sensor is best in each situation. This new guide will make the specification and installation process much simpler, hopefully helping our customers save time on each project and feel assured that everything is being monitored effectively.”

As well as the water detection guide, Sontay has created documents to cover a range of applications and situations including natural ventilation, data centres, AHUs, and chilled beams. The guides can be downloaded from the Sontay website.
