Singapore delegation visits BSRIA

A group of senior officials from the Building & Construction Authority (BCA) along with representatives from other public agencies, as well as several large builders and MEP subcontractors from the construction industry in Singapore have visited BSRIA.
The visit was part of an overseas learning journey to study efficient and productive architectural and MEP systems being used in the UK construction industry.

Led by Mr Tan Tian Chong, group director for technology development of the BCA, the delegation met with BSRIA's directors to discuss energy performance in buildings and to establish common ground for working together.

The delegation was given a tour of BSRIA's state-of-the-art laboratory featuring a range of specialist test facilities for improving the efficiency of building services products and built environment.

Mr Chong said: 'We are delighted to visit the BSRIA and forge ties with the UK's leading experts on building services. The visit has certainly given the delegates good insight on the new technologies that could potentially help to boost productivity in the construction industry in Singapore.'

BSRIA marketing director, Anne King, said: 'It was an honour to host the senior officials from Singapore at BSRIA. The delegates were impressed by BSRIA's wide range of expertise and this was a positive endorsement of the work we do.'

She added: 'We hope the visit will open up new opportunities for us in Singapore, particularly in the area of standards, testing and training.'
