Shouksmiths acquires KLG Refrigeration

York-based building services company JH Shouksmith and Sons has completed a deal to buy KLG Refrigeration and the KLG team has joined the company to create Shouksmiths’ Refrigeration Division.
Shouksmiths acquires KLG Refrigeration
KLG, which was based in Farsley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, was established in 1988 by Ken Green.

Specialising in the design and installation of refrigeration systems for the commercial, industrial and domestic markets, KLG has worked with a wide range of clients in both the public and private sectors across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

'The acquisition of KLG Refrigeration is a strategic move to bring in-house a refrigeration capability to serve not only the commercial and industrial sectors in which we work, but also to develop refrigeration via heat pumps in the potentially emerging market within the domestic sector,' said John Miller, managing director of JH Shouksmith and Sons.

The new division will be based in the company's Leeds offices, and will be led by Ken Green, who will become Shouksmiths' Refrigeration divisional director.

'We are delighted to now be part of J. H. Shouksmiths and Sons and bring our skills and expertise in the refrigeration sector to help the company develop its overall service to clients,' said Green.

'There are major new opportunities opening up in refrigeration, including the demand for more sustainable and cost effective solutions and by being part of a large organisation such as this gives us the platform to make the most of those opportunities, which will benefit both employees and clients alike.'

Current contracts being undertaken by the new division include a significant number of air conditioning and refrigeration installations across the leisure sector, supplemented by installations in office refurbishments.
