SFL contributes to employment through apprenticeships

SFL Flues & Chimneys has recruited two apprentices. They join a further four full time employees who were, until recently, long-serving temporary workers.
SFL contributes to employment through apprenticeships
SFL launched its apprenticeship programme in January 2010. The company said: 'Of the original apprentices, four have now been given post apprenticeship permanent positions within the company and two are due to complete their training in December and go on to further their career at SFL.

'The company is keen to support further development, where desired, and two of the original intake are now progressing to advanced apprenticeships and another is completing a Batchelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.'

SFL has been manufacturing in Barnstaple for more than 40 years.

The company's apprenticeships are supported by Group Training & Development Ltd, which specialises in engineering apprenticeships throughout Devon and Cornwall.
