Ruskin acquired by Johnson Controls

Global, multi-industrial company Johnson Controls has completed the acquisition of Air Distribution Technologies, which includes Kent-based Ruskin Air Management, for $1.6bn.

This adds 7,000 new employees based in 48 different locations worldwide along with a broad range of air distribution and ventilation products under the Ruskin, Titus, Hart & Cooley, Krueger, PennBarry, and Tuttle & Bailey brands to the 170,000-strong buildings and automotive conglomerate, which operates in 150 countries.

'This acquisition reflects our strategy to invest in our buildings business as a growth platform,' a Johnson statement said. 'The combined companies offer significant opportunities for global growth and will allow us to increase the value we can offer customers.'

Ruskin managing director Kevin Munson (pictured) said it was 'exciting times for the business' adding that being part of 'such a world class organisation and the resources they have will only enhance Ruskin Air Management'.
