New online report service launched

The Heating Engineers & Allied Trades Federation has launched a new online engineer 'field report' service at http://www.heatfed.co.uk/ in response to rank and file members.
Members asked to strengthen the addressing of problems encountered in the field, 'be it with building control, customers, competent persons' scheme providers, manufacturers, merchants, rules and regulations, suppliers, training centres, etc. which they may encounter'.

The service is designed to enable engineers in the field to report problems which the Federation will review, collate data on and provide support services wherever possible for members.

Alan Black, director - legislative support at the Heating Engineers & Allied Trades Federation, said: 'An engineer may well feel isolated and alone when trying to seek redress with large companies and bodies and their complaint may well be portrayed to them as a 'one off' or an 'isolated problem' whereas collated data may well show this not to be the case and this can then be brought to the fore to enable greater pressure to be applied to get matters put right for engineers.'
