Rob Driscoll has been appointed head of the B&ES Commercial and Legal Department. He succeeds Roderick Pettigrew, who has been combining the role with that of deputy chief executive of the Building & Engineering Services Association.
The move would, said a B&ES spokesperson, leave Mr Pettigrew free to concentrate on his deputy chief executive role.
A qualified solicitor and accredited mediator, Mr Driscoll took an honours degree in law from the University of Greenwich in 1998, and spent four years in private practice before joining B&ES as a commercial and legal adviser in 2003.
Having joined B&ES as a commercial and legal adviser in 2003, he assumed the role of deputy head of the department last year.
Commenting on Mr Driscoll's appointment, B&ES chief executive Blane Judd said that he was 'delighted to be able to confirm Rob's promotion to head of department status'.
He added: 'I am also confident that he will help to maintain the very high standard of professional advice, guidance and support which we at B&ES pride ourselves on providing to all of our 1,400 members.'
