New appointees signal Gas Safety Trust's new medical focus

The Gas Safety Trust has appointed two new trustees to expand its work especially within the medical profession.
Dr Susan Bews is the Trust's first medical appointee. She is currently a trustee of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, a former medical director of Yamanouchi Pharma and former president of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine. Dr Bews is a medical expert who has served on the Government's Medicines Commission for five years and will help the Trust as it looks to drive further research into the prevalence and the effects of low level carbon monoxide poisoning.

Julian Allsopp, is also appointed to the role of trustee and honorary treasurer. Mr Allsopp is currently financial manager at National Grid Gas, but has also worked for Crown Castle International, National Express and the BBC.
