Live demos and prizes at Manchester HEVAR 2009
For the first time, Manchester HEVAR, located at Lancashire County Cricket club, is launching a Demo Area with live demonstrations happening throughout the two- day HVAC exhibition.

On January 28 and 29, CIBSE's director of information Jacqueline Balian and Laura Penson will be on hand to offer exhibition visitors assistance with APEL applications for air conditioning and other applications.

On Thursday, January 29, Mike Creamer from Business Edge, an F-Gas training provider, will demonstrate the ClimaCheck Performance Analyser system. The technology can establish the performance of any type of air conditioning or refrigeration system, without the need to establish airflow/water flow rates, air/water entering /leaving conditions. To compliment the demonstration, Mike Creamer will also be presenting a seminar at Manchester HEVAR that day.

On the same day, a fellow Business Edge representative will demonstrate the FriOil System. The system uses refrigerant to remove oil, acid and water from refrigeration systems, by the controlled injection of liquid refrigerant to the refrigeration system to be cleaned.

On both days, a representative from Wilo will demonstrate the Wilo Brain product and present the economic efficiency of Wilo's stratos ec0 and venting systems.

As well as live demonstrations, competitors will compete to offer prizes at Manchester Hevar 2009.
Sovereign Air Movement/DVD on Stand 54 will offering a signed limited edition print by internationally acclaimed artist Ashley Jackson.

Visitors will receive a leaflet about Sovereign when they come into the exhibition and if the jigsaw piece attached matches the missing piece on the painting displayed on Sovereign's stand, the bearer of the missing piece will win the artwork. For those who do not win, placing a business card into the competition box at stand 54 will give them a chance of winning Ashley Jackson's new book of paintings.

The Air Conditioning Centre at stand 38 will host a competition offering a prize of a 13000BTU Mobile Air Conditioner. The winner will be chosen from the business card drop box on the afternoon of January 29. The winner will be announced at Manchester HEVAR and the prize will be posted to the winner. Staff at the Air Conditioning Centre will be demonstrating ground and air source underfloor and domestic hot water heating systems on stand 38.

Tour & Anderssons on stand 46 is launching the TBV-CM, which enables cost efficient modulating control and balancing of small terminal units. It is designed for balancing and control in demanding applications, by ensuring all the terminal units have the correct flow independent of the operating conditions. Also on display will be the TA-HUB, a bespoke prefabricated valve module to balance up to eight terminals from one location. It provides flexibility while delivering material and labour savings onsite during installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Tour & Anderssons says any engineer that can accurately calculate the possible combinations of the TA-HUB will win a mystery prize. There will also be prizes for two runners up.

For sports fans, Spirotech UK are giving away a pair of tickets to watch Vale at the Dutch MotoGP in Spirotech Yellow Jackets. All you need to do is answer a few biker questions and the first two people to get the right answers will win a ticket to join them in the Netherlands in June. Visit stand 61 & 62 to see working demo units and get your MotoGP question sheet.
