This year’s Access summit, organised by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), will focus on “Safety is a management issue” and includes a talk by the former COO of United Airlines at the time of the 9/11 attacks.
The summit is free and open to all interested parties and will take place on March 25, starting from 1.30pm at the Grange St. Paul's Hotel in London.

The opening presentation will be given by Andy Studdert, a former COO of United Airlines at the time of the 9/11 attacks. He applies lessons from managing airlines to managing the powered access industry.

Other speakers include:

Simon Rooks, operations director and head of UK and Ireland Fire at Tyco, who will speak about an accident that occurred at the company and the way this has changed what Tyco expects of its rental partners.

Joy Jones, a principal inspector of the UK Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and member of the Strategic Forum for Construction Plant Safety, will examine management's responsibilities toward MEWP operators.

David Shipman, chairman of UK-based AFI-Uplift, will present his views on why management should be concerned about safety issues.
