Ideal Boilers to reinforce CO safety message

Installers are being urged to use the key messages of CO Awareness Week when talking to their customers about boiler servicing, maintenance and ongoing, efficient and safe operation.

For Ideal Boilers’ customer service director Chris Jessop, the customer service team and installers, nothing is more important than customer safety.

CO Awareness Week takes place from 16-23 November and aims to raise awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide and the importance of taking care of gas appliances in the home. Chris said: “Gas appliances that are incorrectly installed or not regularly serviced can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning. Every year significant numbers of people across the UK are diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is invisible, tasteless, has no smell and exposure can be lethal.

“There are a number of ways installers can remind their customers how to stay safe in addition to correct installation and servicing of boilers, including installing CO alarms. New Government legislation which came into effect on 1st October means that landlords must ensure CO alarms are installed in every room that contains a solid fuel burning combustion appliance.

“Customer safety is of utmost importance to us - from design, R&D, production and ongoing testing, through to our partnerships with suppliers, and finally our installers who play a crucial role in the safety of homeowners. Ensuring installers have access to relevant information is key to ensuring their customers understand the importance of maintaining gas safety.”

Installers can tweet Ideal for the opportunity to get co-branded safety leaflets for their customers and win CO alarms throughout CO Awareness Week.
