HVCA specialist groups elect three new chairmen

New chairmen and vice chairmen have been elected by three of the HVCA’s four specialist groups.

Kevin White of Senior Hargreaves, Bury, Lancashire, is the new chairman of the Ductwork Group. He succeds to Kevin Talbot of Cranworth Engineering, Congleton, Cheshire, who will serve as immediate past chairman. Peter Rogers of Ductwork Projects, Wimborne, Dorset, has become vice chairman.

Scott Gleed of Ceilite Air Conditioning, Stansted, Essex, has assumed the chairmanship and Tony Williams of Temperature Control, Cardiff, the vice chairmanship of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Group. Retiring chairman Karen Leader of Barrier Air Conditioning, Orpington,Kent, is immediate past chairman.

The Service and Facilities Group has elected Sue Sharp of Overclean, Honiton, Devon, to succeed Peter Excell of Rollright Facilities, London EC4, as chairman, while Ian McGregor of Delron Services, Maidstone, Kent, will serve as vice chairman. Excell has assumed the office of immediate past chairman.

Mike Staton of Statons, Bournemouth, remains chairman of the Heating and Plumbing Services Group, with John Hurst of Superior Plumbing Installations, Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, as vice chairman. Billy Wilgar of A C Wilgar, Orpington, Kent, continues as immediate past chairman.

Specialist group representatives on Council are Kevin White and Barry Pollard (Ductwork); Mike Staton and John Hurst (Heating and Plumbing Services); Scott Gleed and Tony Williams (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning), and Sue Sharp and Peter Excell (Service and Facilities).

The elections took place during the combined Annual General Meetings and Conference of the specialist groups, which was held, for the third year in succession, at Trinity House in the City of London.

As in previous years, the event provided an opportunity for the presentation of awards to four of the industry's brightest young talents.

Grant Henderson of Galloway Group, Dundee, was named the Harry Hobbs Ductwork Trainee of the Year.

Robert Hart of London & Home Counties, based in Uxbridge, Middlesex, took the Craft Trainee of the Year Award sponsored by the Heating and Plumbing Services Group.

The Harry Decker Award for top refrigeration and air conditioning trainee went to Darren Sutherland of KS Refrigeration of Ballachulish in the Scottish Highlands.

The Service and Facilities Group's Richard Bostel Service Technician of the Year Award was presented to Joseph Hughes of Airconaire, Rochester, Kent.
