Hamworthy Heating has held an exclusive event in St Helier, Jersey to mark the launch of its specially adapted boiler for the Channel Islands.
Consultants, contractors and installers from across the region, as well as Jersey Gas, Hamworthy’s partner on the venture, came together for the unveiling of the Purewell VariHeat boiler. As part of the event Hamworthy Heating gave a seminar on best practice refurbishment of heating systems.
Stuart Turner, national sales manager, said: “The Purewell VariHeat cast iron boiler has been in production for over 10 years, but in 2015 we have been working hard to adapt the product so that it is suitable for use with LPG Air. We have been working closely with Jersey Gas to test the boiler for safe operation and get it ready for market.”
For compatibility with the high air content of the LPG/Air supply from Jersey Gas it is necessary to restrict the air inlet of the boiler using an additional fixed orifice. Four models have been tested and approved for sale in the Channel Islands offering outputs of 56-90kW with an additional larger model currently being tested.
Andrew Robinson, Group CHP & commercial sales officer, Jersey Gas Company Ltd said at the launch: “It is fantastic to be working with Hamworthy Heating on this project. With this latest development we are able to offer our customers a unique commercial boiler and full package that is backed up by the British manufacturer.”
The Purewell VariHeat cast iron boiler is the natural replacement for less efficient atmospheric boilers in existing buildings across Jersey and Guernsey, as well as offering long term peace of mind in new builds, Hamworthy says.
