Guardian Water Treatment achieves ISO 14001 environmental certification

Guardian Water Treatment has been awarded ISO 14001:2015 certification, the International Standard for environmental management which supports organisations in reducing their environmental impact.

ISO 14001 was revised in 2015, bringing an increased focus on sustainable development and helping businesses to effectively manage the environmental challenges of the future. It provides a framework for the development of an Environmental Management System, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and providing a systematic approach to continually improving environmental performance.

In response to these revisions, Guardian has implemented a new Integrated Management System, which addresses requirements for both ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9000:2015, the quality management standard which ensures that customers get consistent, good quality products and services.

Steven Booth, Associate Director for Guardian Water Treatment, said: 'The achievement of ISO 14001 accreditation is an important step forward for Guardian and we are very proud to have been recognised for our continued commitment to high environmental standards.

'The implementation, development and application of our new Integrated Management System will help us to meet the environmental challenges of the future head on. It will result in an overall reduction in our carbon footprint, waste production and costs, minimising the environmental impact of our operations while improving our business processes.

'Being both ISO 14001 and ISO 9000 accredited sends a strong message to our customers that we are fully compliant, operating responsibly and that the quality of our service is consistently improved.'

The accreditation is valid until March 2020.
