Greenwood launches smallest trickle vent for 5000mm2 equivalent area

Leading trickle ventilation expert, Greenwood Window Vents has launched the 5000EA trickle ventilator; the smallest product on the UK market that delivers 5000mm2 equivalent area. Given that this is the minimum requirement for habitable rooms, Greenwood has developed the most compact single unit solution.

Its compact size, of just 410mm in length, allows fewer ventilators to be used to comply with Building Regulations, especially in new build, where high background ventilation rates sometimes require a large number of trickle vent installations. The innovative internal seal also assists with compliance as it improves air tightness, increasingly important in pressure tests completed in new build housing.

Greenwood's sleek, unobtrusive EA5000 is discreetly designed and is easily applied to the window profile over a standard 13mm rout. Ideal for all types of window frame, the aluminium EA5000 trickle ventilator is simple for the installer to apply.

The aesthetically pleasing EA5000 is also ideal for the end user, with an upward tilting deflector to direct incoming air towards the top of the room. This ensures maximum draught-free comfort for life indoors.

Michelle Sharp, Brand Manager for Greenwood Airvac commented, 'The high requirements for background ventilation in system 1 of the current Building Regulations have sometimes made it difficult for window vents to be applied easily across the window space available. By offering the smallest compact unit available, Greenwood's new EA5000 vent could reduce the number of vents by up to 20%, depending on the airflow requirements of the dwelling.'

The EA5000 trickle ventilator is also well placed to respond to the requirements detailed in the current Part F Building Regulation Consultation Document.
