Glen Dimplex Group acquires Ability Projects

The Glen Dimplex Group has acquired Ability Projects, based in Poole, Dorset, and a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of fan coil units (FCUs) and digital control technology.

Established in 1973, the Glen Dimplex Group is an international group and a leading manufacturer of electrical heating technologies. It also holds significant global market positions in domestic appliances, cooling, ventilation and renewable energy solutions.

Recently listed as one of the Top 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain, Ability Projects is a perfect acquisition for the Glen Dimplex Group. Based in a new 30,000sq foot factory in Poole and with a dedicated showroom in London, the company also exports products to New Zealand, The UAE, Australia, and Hong Kong and has representatives in the USA and Canada.

Ceo of Glen Dimplex Heating, Neil Stewart, said: “We are delighted to have acquired Ability Projects who are at the forefront of technological development in their field - using the very latest design and manufacturing techniques. Their efficient FCUs benefit everyone - consultants gain flexibility, contractors save on installation time and overall capital expenditure, and building occupants save on running costs and maintenance.  Innovation is something we at Glen Dimplex strongly believe in and we welcome Ability Projects into the Glen Dimplex family.”

Peter Lowther, managing director of Ability Projects, said: “We are delighted to be joining the Glen Dimplex Group and further developing the product portfolio of Ability Projects over the coming years. This really is a fantastic opportunity for all of us, including our customers, who I would like to reassure will continue to receive the exceptional products and service that they have enjoyed in the past but now with the enhanced support of an International Group”.
