FENSA and EXOR to sign up trustyworthy tradesmen

FENSA Ltd and Exor Management Services are to sign up firms to TrustMark, the government scheme geared to helping householders find reputable tradesmen.
The two organisations are the latest additions to TrustMark's list of 24 scheme operators. FENSA is set to become the largest approval body in the scheme with the potential to add an extra 9,300 firms to the list of reputable tradesmen over the coming months.

FENSA is the original Competent Persons scheme enabling firms that install windows and doors to self certify compliance with building regulations.

Exor Management Services is an independent accreditation service provider to the public sector with over 120 local authorities using its services. More than 200 of its suppliers will be added to the scheme in the next few months.

'We see our business as part of the solution to reduce rogue traders', said Ian McKinnon, managing director of Exor Management Services. 'Our robust approach to accreditation and assessment of our contractors is just one example. With our reach into the public sector we are eager to promote the take up of the TrustMark standard even further than before'.

Being TrustMark approved, gives the 14,000 firms with this status (spanning 17 trades) a badge of honour to attract business.

A recent study shows 20% of UK householders are aware of Trustmark. The scheme was launched in January 2006.

Householders planning to make improvement and repairs to their home can access the TrustMark list on the website. www.trustmark.com
