eu.bac launches energy labelling for heating controls and equipment

eu.bac, the European Building Automation and Controls Association, is introducing a Europe-wide voluntary energy labelling scheme for building services products that deliver heating regulation and hydraulic balancing, not currently covered by EU labelling regulations.
Open to all manufacturers and based on European standards and regulations, the scheme allows for improved decision-making by private households, specifiers, installers, specialist retailers and public authorities, as well as district heating and energy suppliers.

The label displays 'at a glance' information about a product's quality in terms of its energy saving capability and functionality.

The label is based on existing independent test house analysis of temperature controllers and valves for heating systems. The periodic examination demonstrates that the controls industry is aware of the need for quality assurance. In addition, production facilities are regularly checked and product samples taken. Certification according to ISO 9000 is a prerequisite for eu.bac labelling.

To date, more than 200 products have been certified and registered.

eu.bac represents the European manufacturers of products for home controls, building automation and building automation systems.
