Ventilation manufacturer envirovent has reached a significant milestone with the production of its three millionth Filterless Infinity Fan.

The fan is widely used in the social housing sector and was first released in its original format in 2004.

For 20 years, social housing providers and private households have benefited from its impact, with fewer issues around condensation and mould growth in millions of properties across the UK – an issue that has come under increasing national scrutiny following the introduction of Awaab’s Law and wider reforms aimed at improving housing conditions for tenants.

envirovent marked the occasion on May 12th at its head office by displaying a clear model of the fan, which showcases its innovative internal technology.

Designed and manufactured in the UK, the award-winning fan is built specifically to meet the rigours of social housing, where there is a need to remove moisture and improve indoor air quality throughout the dwelling, while offering long-term performance with minimal maintenance.

The exchangeable cartridge system was welcomed by social landlords on release, as it provided the lowest-ever lifecycle costs, saving housing providers hundreds of thousands of pounds in maintenance and replacement fees.

For this reason, the fan is designed to avoid unnecessary disposal. It is also known for its whisper-quiet running, ultra-low energy consumption, and variable speed control.

The latest updates to the fan include an integrated data logger function. This helps social landlords monitor fans in residents’ homes, including running conditions, energy usage and operational life.

James Kane, head of social housing (sales) at envirovent, said: “We are proud to be celebrating this significant three million milestone for our Filterless Infinity Fan, as it really is one of our most successful products ever.”

“We have innovated on the original model over the years, most recently to meet modern requirements for data logging and monitoring, enabling social housing providers to better meet the requirements of Awaab’s Law.”

“We’re excited to share that this fan is still manufactured in the UK by our people, who are passionate about indoor air quality and providing the very best ventilation solutions to our customers.”

envirovent created the fan by designing out the requirement for filtration to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted passage of air through the fan.

It uses filterless technology, with a unique patented cartridge system and ultra-low-watt motor technology. The environmentally friendly unit provides exceptional performance and is designed to last the lifetime of a building.

These fans have also helped prevent several tonnes of replacement extractor fans from going to landfill sites, while reducing the amount of plastic used in replacement units and therefore producing less CO2 emissions.
