ENER-G Combined Power has appointed Ian Hopkins as sales director to drive its UK and international expansion.
He joins the Salford-based company from Dresser Rand, where he was director of client services (power), developing the company's reciprocating engine and combined heat and power (CHP) business.
As a graduate in energy science, Mr Hopkins joined the cogeneration industry as a sales engineer for Dalkia Utilites Services, before joining the CHP sales team at National Power Cogen. His sales and management career began 11 years ago as sales manager for Aircogen, the combined heat and power division of Peter Brotherhood. He was then appointed to head up Aircogen Inc, building a new joint venture CHP business in the USA, prior to Peter Brotherhood's acquisition by Dresser-Rand.
