Ecobuild partners with CCS

Ecobuild 2018 will be partnering with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), the national organisation established to improve the image of the construction industry.

The CCS will work with ecobuild over the forthcoming months to help develop a set of criteria for the event in order to demonstrate its considerate credentials, in line with the CCS’s Code of Considerate Practice.

Martin Hurn, managing director of ecobuild's owner, Futurebuild Events, said: “We are really excited to have the Scheme partnering with ecobuild 2018. We will be using the Scheme’s Code as an industry standard to help ensure the event is achieving high standards in key areas, such as being an inclusive and respectful event for everyone, and minimising the environmental impact of the event through waste and resource management.

“The Scheme’s fundamental values represent everything we work hard to promote at ecobuild, and together, I am confident that we will be able to have a positive impact on the industry and its image.”

CCS chief executive Edward Hardy said: “The Scheme is delighted to partner with ecobuild 2018. The aim of the partnership is to make the event as considerate as possible in respect of the environment, workforce and community.

“With thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibitors and presenters attending construction events each year, events have an extremely important role in showcasing the very best image of the construction industry. As such, partnering with ecobuild – one of the UK’s industry leading events – was a natural fit in order to support the event to demonstrate its considerate credentials.

“We look forward to this partnership inspiring other like-minded events to work with the Scheme to improve standards and promote a positive image of the construction industry in the future.”
