Daikin launches fifth CPD-accredited seminars series

Daikin UK has launched the fifth series of its CPD-accredited seminars series to help engineers ‘Mind the performance gap’.

This latest series of the company’s popular Future Thinking seminars will tackle the challenges faced by building services engineers and engineering consultants in closing the building performance gap.

According to The Carbon Trust operational energy use in buildings can be up to five times higher than predicted at the design stage – a discrepancy that is known as the ‘building performance gap’. With climate control systems responsible for nearly half of non-residential building energy consumption, more accurate analysis, design, installation and control of these systems can have a significant impact on improving a building’s energy performance.

Daikin UK’s ‘Mind the performance gap’ seminar series, which takes place in February and March, will explore why the energy performance of buildings rarely matches design calculations and the positive impact engineers can have in helping to reduce energy consumption, environmental impact and running costs.

Experts from the Carbon Trust and leading built environment modelling software manufacturer IES will explain how engineers can: influence energy performance beyond the design stage; improve the energy performance of buildings through the latest dynamic modelling and analysis; and specify whole-building climate control systems that deliver on their promises.

The seminars will be hosted from 6pm and include buffet, drinks and networking at the following locations:

Wednesday 24th February, Marriott Hotel, City Centre, Leeds

Thursday 25th February, Blythswood Square Hotel, Glasgow

Wednesday 9th March, The Lowry, Manchester

Thursday 10th March, The Bloomsbury, London

Monday 14th March, Marriott Hotel, Cardiff

Tuesday 15th March, Radisson Blu, Bristol

Wednesday 16th March, Hilton, Southampton

Tuesday 22nd March, Birmingham Hotel du Vin, Birmingham

Wednesday 23rd March, Mercure City Centre, Nottingham
