Wokingham-based firm Broag-Rehema is helping council houses offset carbon emissions produced by its boilers.
For each new boiler purchased, Broag-Rehema will pay a carbon offsetting sum of £7.50 per tonne to Climate Care and funds will then be used to finance carbon reducing projects in the third world.

People 1st Slough is the first housing association in the south of England to become part of a carbon offsetting agreement.

The company said new boilers purchased through this scheme will reduce carbon emissions by 34% when compared to old boilers in council homes.
