Cool-Therm initiative provides off-the-shelf chillers

Rob Young (pictured), the Cool-Therm director heading up the initiative, said: “Traditionally, the time-frame for chiller delivery is governed by the fact that plant is normally made to order, given the scale of investment involved. This means that lead-times are usually two to three months, at best.”

Cool-Therm is breaking the mould in the UK market by stocking popular models of chiller that can be ordered ‘off-the-shelf’ and delivered to site in a matter of days rather than months.

Rob Young (pictured), the Cool-Therm director heading up the initiative, said: “Traditionally, the time-frame for chiller delivery is governed by the fact that plant is normally made to order, given the scale of investment involved. This means that lead-times are usually two to three months, at best.”

“However, this can sometimes create major problems for end users who suffer unexpected and perhaps catastrophic breakdowns, when chillers can’t be repaired quickly and replacement plant is not available. This is a particular issue in relation to critical applications such as data centres, and process cooling environments where production depends on continuity of cooling.”

To meet this need, Cool-Therm is offering customers immediate chiller availability, believed to be a first in the UK, with access to stocks of the most popular models of Tonon chillers.

Current chillers in stock will be listed on Cool-Therm’s website, permitting ordering for immediate despatch and delivery to a designated site within days.

Tonon’s range of high performance, high efficiency chillers have a growing following in the UK, and are particularly suitable for applications requiring low sound levels, such as hospitals and educational settings.

There is also a low temperature option that provides high intensity cooling for replacement applications requiring larger capacity for a given footprint, or lower temperatures for improved food hygiene in food production or catering applications.

“We believe the new service provides a valuable safety net for end users and FMs requiring a rapid replacement chiller,” added Rob Young.
