CIPHE pushes CO message

CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering) is campaigning to push carbon monoxide poisoning up the agenda ahead of CO Awareness Week, which runs from 19 to 23 November.
CIPHE pushes CO message
CIPHE ceo Kevin Wellman, said: 'CO alarms cost around £25, a pittance when you think they could save a life, or prevent serious illness.'

'CO Awareness week runs from 19 to 23 November, so this is a good opportunity to bring this important message to the public. Plumbing and heating professionals have a significant role to play in educating consumers and protecting public health.'

Every year around 4,000 people attend accident and emergency departments in England because of varying degrees of carbon monoxide poisoning. Around 40 people die each year from exposure to the odourless and tasteless gas.
