BSRIA appoints new technical director

BSRIA has appointed a new technical director, Colin Goodwin, who commenced the role at the beginning of October.

Colin Goodwin has joined BSRIA from MITIE as its new technical director.

Mr Goodwin has had an extensive and distinguished career in the building services design and sustainable engineering sector, with particular interest in innovative building maintenance techniques.

He has joined BSRIA from MITIE, where he also held the role of technical director, and was formerly part of the Dalkia leadership team.

In his role as technical director, Mr Goodwin will direct the technical direction and focus of BSRIA and provide top level technical, engineering and professional decision-making. The role also encompasses the management of BSRIA's technical input to regulatory, legislative and parliamentary activity, including energy policies and building regulations.

BSRIA chief executive, Julia Evans, said: “With Colin’s specific, top level engineering background, he can bring to the table key industry intelligence and foresight. This will boost BSRIA’s reputation as the go-to industry leader in delivering global sustainable building construction and research. It will also highlight BSRIA’s commitment to its members and to delivering improvement in the built environment.”

Mr Goodwin added: “BSRIA is a great organisation and has an amazing depth of knowledge and expertise. As the leading international, built environment member organisation, it has a crucial role to play in assisting and enabling the industry to deliver the buildings and the building performance that investors, occupiers, residents and society needs.”
