BSRIA appointment

BSRIA has announced the appointment of Dr Arnold Teekaram as corporate quality assurance manager, with effect from 1st September 2015.

BSRIA has announced the appointment of Dr Arnold Teekaram as corporate quality assurance manager, with effect from 1st September 2015.

One of Arnold’s main tasks will be to extend the scope of BSRIA’s QA system at the corporate level to include all aspects of the business under ISO 9001. BSRIA will continue to maintain UKAS accreditation under 17025 to cover technical services.

Three main principles have been identified to implement a corporate Quality Management system across BSRIA and it is planned these will:

1. Improve the quality of work BSRIA does at corporate level to meet its customer needs and improve customer satisfaction.

2. Improve internal processes to improve efficiency and productivity.

3. Assist with compliance of any relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.

Arnold, who is also one the judges on this year's HVR Awards, said: “Quality is the core of BSRIA’s activities. The implementation of ISO 9001 will not only consolidate our procedures across all departments, but we also hope that it will also give our clients the confidence that the quality of the work we provide is of the highest standard, meets their requirements and is delivered on time. Customer feedback is particularly important.  We will continue to monitor customer feedback to identify where improvements can be made in the services we provide and to bring successful attributes to the attention of other business areas so that where appropriate, they can be replicated.”

Arnold joined BSRIA in 1989 as a senior test engineer after completing a Doctorate Degree in Physical Sciences (University of Oxford). He is also a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He has worked on various projects over the last 26 years which include product testing, research on combustion related projects and on site failure investigations. Arnold has also been BSRIA’s part time QA manager with responsibility for the company corporate quality strategy under ISO/IEC 17025 and UKAS accredited tests. He has authored over 30 technical articles in various building services journals.
