BMF members have clinched 14 of the 16 prestigious Builders Merchants Awards for Excellence 2013.
The BMF was the official partner of the Excellence Awards for the first time this year and managing director, John Newcomb, pledged the trade body's continuing support for the award scheme.
He said: 'This is the first time that the BMF has championed an award scheme in our industry and these particular Awards are a natural fit for the new look BMF, reflecting the values to which we, and indeed the whole industry, must aspire.
'The Awards not only recognise those who demonstrate excellence in every aspect of their business practice, they also reward those who are prepared to embrace change and to do things differently.
'I am delighted that so many of the winners came from the ranks of BMF members. We are committed to a vision of One Industry with One Voice, where every organisation within it is worthy of an Award for Excellence.'
The winning BMF members were: Beatsons Building Supplies (Best Website and Digital Initiative), EH Smith (Best Marketing Initiative and Best Environmental Initiative), LBS Builders Merchants (Rob Simpson Training Initiative of the Year), Coomers Timber & Building Supplies (Best Hard Landscaping Display and Showroom of the Year), MKM Building Supplies (Best Independent Builders' Merchant - 6+ branches), Buildbase (Best National Builders' Merchant), Heating Plumbing Supplies (Best Heating and Plumbing Merchant), Siniat (Supplier of the Year), Glenn Paddison, MKM Building Supplies (Trainee of the Year), Phil Barnard, Chandlers Building Supplies (Achiever of the Year), Alan Patterson, MKM Building Supplies (Branch Manager of the Year), Dr Peter Hindle MBE (Lifetime Achievement Award).
