Chris Bielby, chair of trustees at The Gas Safety Trust, has been made an MBE in the Queen's birthday honours list this month, in recognition for services to gas safety.
Chris has over 35 years of industry experience and has spent the past 25 years lobbying and canvassing support for gas safety issues.
He has been a trustee of the Gas Safety Trust since its foundation in 2005.
Director of new business for the gas distribution company Southern Gas Networks, he joined the industry in 1972, starting out as a gas engineer, before moving into other operational and senior managerial roles.
He was previously director of integrity at British Gas and more recently group business integrity director at Connaught plc.
