Professor Cath Noakes, one of the two engineer members the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), told a webinar hosted by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) that it was not enough to simply increase ventilation rates in buildings to mitigate transmission of the Covid-19 virus.

UK heat pump market to almost double this year

Heat Pump Association (HPA) members plan to deliver 67,000 units in 2021, nearly doubling the number available on shelves and in warehouses.
The HPA's figures are drawn from a survey of its members which make up around 95% of the heat pump manufacturing market share.
The association said this boost in predicted sales is extremely promising for the industry on the road to net zero.
