She added: “Thank you to everyone who sponsored us and helped raise such a great sum for two local charities. Roll on next year!”
Six members of Team ADEY MagnaClean took part in the Cheltenham Triathlon on Sunday 13 September raising more than £1,000 for Leukaemia Intensive Therapy (LINC) and Sandford Parks Lido.
As an event sponsor, the team was keen to put in a good performance and comprised Stephanie Spry, Poppy Rees, Emily Howe, Kaylee Finch, Edward Davies and John Wixey.
Starting with a 500m swim in Cheltenham Lido, competitors then headed into the transition area where their bikes were waiting. Heading out towards Southam, the 13km undulating course passed through Prestbury before returning to Cheltenham Lido. After the second transition, the team faced a 3km run. With the ‘jelly legs’ effect kicking in coming off the bike and heading into the run, it was one final push to the finish.
Stephanie Spry, ADEY’s marketing manager said: “For most of us it was our first triathlon and a great event to be part of.”
She added: “Thank you to everyone who sponsored us and helped raise such a great sum for two local charities. Roll on next year!”
