Wilo pushes building services sustainability strategy

Wilo UK has announced Jason Cox as its new sales director, as the efficiency-first pump manufacturer renews its focus on getting the building services sector closer to Net Zero with an evolution of the company’s strategy.

Wilo UK's new sales director Jason Cox

With three years’ experience at Wilo UK and over 20 years across the building, heating and renewable energy industries, the appointment has seen Jason transition from his role as Service Director.

Jason’s focus is to build on Wilo’s existing strategy to support the building services sector’s sustainability targets by offering consultative services that cover the complete life cycle of pumps and pumping systems.

By expanding the company’s consultative services to specifiers, consultants and contractors, Jason and his team will ensure that new build schemes have the right pumps and systems in place at design and specification stage, driving energy efficiency and system reliability from the outset.

Wilo will continue to offer service and maintenance contracts to building owners to ensure that pumps operate at optimum efficiency, prolonging their lifespan and maximising return on investment.

Towards the end of a pump’s lifecycle, Wilo provides a consultative approach to replacing inefficient equipment through energy audits to quantify the energy, carbon and cost savings available from upgrading outdated pumps.

This approach is what Wilo believes to be the complete solution to futureproofing the foundations of all new and existing UK buildings.

Jason said: “It’s a real honour to be named as the new building services sales director of Wilo UK. Having entered the industry as an apprentice heating engineer, the experience I have gained throughout the last two decades has been invaluable and I plan to use it to full effect in my new role.

“I’m particularly eager to use my background in overseeing maintenance contracts and the servicing of pumps. We know the challenges the industry is facing, which is why we’re going to tailor our solutions through the variety of services and products we offer to support the marketplace.

Wilo’s new sales director was once at the forefront of the UK’s domestic renewables market, pioneering solar, heat pumps and energy storage and helping to establish them as viable technologies, most notably sealing a contract for the country’s largest single farm wind project worth more than £30m. His expertise in discovering and bringing the latest groundbreaking technology to the renewables market will prove essential as more industry professionals join the drive towards decarbonisation.

Lee Tebbatt, managing director at Wilo UK, added: “We’re delighted to see Jason move into his new role as Sales Director. His extensive experience and expertise will be instrumental in helping us to realise our vision of becoming the go-to organisation for anyone in the building services industry seeking sustainable pumping solutions within both new build and existing applications.”
