Wales Training Group chairman, Bob Lane, recently hosted this year's Building Services Engineering Industry Training Awards, sponsored by Pegler Yorkshire, at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
Victoria Hackett of F P Hurley & Sons, Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan, won the First Year Heating and Ventilating Industrial/Commercial Apprentice Award.
The Second Year Heating and Ventilating Industrial/Commercial Apprentice Award was presented to Adam Jury of Lorne Stewart, Cardiff, while the Third Year Heating and Ventilating Industrial/Commercial Apprentice Award was given to Michael Arnold of F P Hurley & Sons, Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan.
Adam Ajraam of CMB Engineering, Cardiff, was presented with the Fourth Year Heating and Ventilating Industrial/Commercial Apprentice Award and the Learner of the Year Award.
The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Apprentice Award went to Daniel Loane of S&G Air Conditioning Contracts, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan.
Chris Williams of Lorne Stewart, Cardiff, won the Electrical Installation Apprentice Award and the Building Services Engineer Award.
The Adult Learner Award was presented to Rhys Yates of CMB Engineering, Cardiff, while the Employer Award went to Whitehead Building Services of Newport in Gwent.
B&ES (Building & Engineering Services Association) was represented at the event by president Sue Sharp and chief executive Blane Judd.
Speaking at the awards evening, Mrs Sharp said: 'In spite of the continuing economic downturn, I am convinced that the sustainability agenda, and the increasing demand for renewable technologies, will ensure a bright future for building engineering services - as well as excellent career prospects for the young men and women whose skill and expertise are being recognised tonight.'
