Viessmann to build new technology centre in Germany

Representing the largest single investment in its 97 year history, Viessmann has committed to spending €50 million on building a new technology centre at its headquarters in Allendorf, Germany.

Due to be completed in 2017, the building will be the largest technical centre of its kind and will house the development of new technologies, such as heating and renewable energy power generation systems, as well as component testing.

Facilities for the measurement and analysis of performance of technologies, including the exhaust and noise emissions of various types of heat generators and combined heat and power systems will also be managed from here. In addition, approval tests for national and international norms or labels and practice-oriented endurance tests can be carried out here. To ensure maximum capability, the centre will house more than 100 inspection stations and over 200 life test rigs.

The Viessmann Innovation Centre will have its own seminar rooms where staff can be trained during the development phase for new product launches.

Viessmann board member, Dr Klaus-Peter Kegel (pictured), said: 'This innovative new centre is being built to ensure Viessmann continually advances, not only for new product development processes, but also improving our existing product ranges and efficiency.'
