Viessmann launches CIBSE-accredited CPD courses on industry hot topics

As part of Viessmann’s drive to improve knowledge within the industry, the German heating systems manufacturer has produced three seminars on industry hot topics to form a one day programme providing credits towards consulting engineers’ and architects’ CPD. The seminar will be delivered at Viessmann’s Telford head office from August and on site, within specifiers own offices as lunchtime training sessions.

All three of the new courses are accredited by The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), who promotes CPD as a systematic maintenance, improvement and broadening of knowledge and skills and investing in professionals’ futures and development. The courses will be free to attend and Viessmann will provide a CPD certificate, as well as a complementary information pack.

The first is overview of the benefits of both high water content and low water content boiler systems along with guidance on their application and decision making for specific suitability, including design principles.  The second examines the integration of district heating schemes, including the factors affecting system selection such as building profiles and energy usage. The third covers combined heat and power (CHP) technology, delivering the principles of system design, as well as integration with other technologies.

Graham Russell, managing director of Viessmann says, “As a manufacturer of all forms of heating technology we are in the unique position to be able to give truly impartial advice and training. We produced these CIBSE-accredited CPDs to properly explain the benefits of each type of system and to support the decision-making process for specifying a heating system.”

Graham went on to say, “For the CPD session for combined heat and power (CHP) and district heating, Viessmann is drawing on its established experience of manufacturing and integrating these products and their controls, to deliver system designs that are practical, efficient and sustainable for the long term.”
