Underfloor heating specialist Uponor has defied challenging trading conditions in the plumbing and heating industry to boast a 15% increase in overall sales for the first six months of the year and predicts further growth for the remainder of 2010.
National sales director Brian Winter maintained Uponor was in an excellent position to make a big name for itself in the UK.
He said contracts in the social housing sector had already yielded he highest proportion of sales from January to July, while increased distribution at merchants across the UK had also accounted for a large boost to the company's figures.
Meanwhile, a new Uponor sales innovation called One Pack, which makes purchasing easier for tradesmen, has been a success.
'We are in an excellent position to hit our annual sales targets. This is down to hard work from everybody in the company, who have helped us defy an extraordinarily difficult marketplace,' Winter said.
He added the social housing market would represent a huge opportunity for further growth in the months and years to come.
