'Understanding ErP' roadshows kick off in Coventry

Plumb and Parts Center’s ‘Understanding ErP’ roadshows launched at the Ricoh Arena on Monday 20th April.

Plumb and Parts Center have joined forces with key heating manufacturers to help installers understand the new EU Energy related Products (ErP) regulations, which come into force on 26th September and the implications for their businesses. The free evening roadshows visit 40 locations across the UK, from Inverness to Ipswich, Belfast, and Swansea, finishing in Plymouth on Thursday 16 July. Find out more and register at www.understandingerp.co.uk

Installers will be able to find out which heating products will be affected, what manufacturers have been doing to prepare for these latest regulatory changes and how Plumb and Parts Center and participating manufacturers are making understanding ErP as straightforward as possible.

The roadshow presentations will make all these changes clear and show installers how to find the necessary tools and information to help their customers get the most out of the energy efficient products on the market.

Kevin Allan from Kallan Gas attended Monday’s first roadshow and said, 'It was helpful to get information from Plumb Center and to see how we can pass that onto our customers. It’s good to see how we can help customers understand the labelling, getting the energy efficiency message across to them. It would be good to have more public awareness of the savings customers might make.'

Douglas Allingham-Mills of Insync agreed, 'Building public awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency products and the possible savings, would make it easier for us to sell better products to our customers. People tend to go with products they know. We need to make them more familiar with renewables. This evening was helpful in giving us more information to help with that.'

Information on where and when the roadshows will be, and how installers can register for the roadshows is available at understandingerp.co.uk. In addition to refreshments on arrival, there will be short, informative presentations from four manufacturers at each event, plus the opportunity to ask questions and gain additional information after the presentations.
