Renewable energy specialist UFW has launched a new Eco-Hub site in Livingston, Scotland, in a £1.5m investment, which is expected to create around 15 new jobs in its first year.
The new Eco-Hub site was officially opened on 10 January by Fergus Ewing, Scotland's Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism.
Mr Ewing was joined by more than 100 guests, including Tom Conn, West Lothian's executive councillor for the environment, installer partners and manufacturers.
The Eco-Hub is the launch pad for an ambitious growth plan for UFW across Scotland. It will be led by regional manager Mark Chambers and will house offices, exhibition centres, a renewables training academy and a large distribution warehouse.
The firm supplies, designs and specifies a wide range of green energy technologies such as ground and air source heat pumps, solar PV and thermal, biomass, underfloor heating and rainwater harvesting.
Nigel Parkes, UFW's managing director, said: 'We are expanding into Scotland to meet a soaring demand for services, and believe the country is perfectly placed to become a global leader in the renewable energy industry. We are aiming to create 15 jobs in the Eco-Hub's first year, with a projected turnover of £2m.'
