UFW joins Flogas

Oil and LPG business DCC Energy has acquired Leicester-based renewable energy technologies company UFW, which will sit alongside Flogas in its portfolio.
UFW joins Flogas
The acquisition means that renewable energy solutions are now available to Flogas customers, including solar technologies, heat pumps, underfloor heating and rain water harvesting systems.

Lee Gannon, sales and marketing director at Flogas, said: 'UFW is a well respected and trusted UK brand and it will continue to operate under its existing name. managing director Nigel Parkes and commercial director Tony Fitzwilliams will continue to expand and develop the company under its new ownership.'

Meanwhile, Flogas has appointed Graham Sargent as national domestic central heating manager and Stewart Kendrick as domestic sales manager for the West Midlands region.

The appointments signal an expansion of the existing team with the new roles being filled by internal candidates.

Congratulation Flogas on your new acquisition and more admiration for selling rainwater harvesting products. I have been in this business for 12 years and still find it amazing that nobody seems to promote these systems. The Prime Minister has one in his London home (not No 10, unfortunately). I know because I have repaired and serviced it. So why doesn't the Government promote these and companies like you who sell them with grants and professional assistance. We live in time when there is a massive water shortage to which these would be the answer if widely installed. Unlike solar panels, which seem to favour the installer, rainwater harvesters do save the environment and the customer money. Anybody contemplating installing one of these, please get a specialist to advise you. It saves money and aggravation in the end.
